Valerij I. Knysh

Valerij I. Knysh, the Candidate of Architectural Science, the Member of the National Association of Architects of Ukraine, the Full Member of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture, the senior lecturer of Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, the Master of the Business Administration, the prizewinner of the contest of the National Association of Architects of Ukraine for the best work-out in the field of architecture (2003), the laureate of the contest “Golden AS” (2003), on a balance of the architectural activity in 2005 awarded with an honorary diploma “For Courage in the Architecture”, in 2007 nominated for a competition for a State Premium.
V. Knysh was born on August 4, 1958 in Kyiv. In 1981 he graduated from the Architectural Department of Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute. In 1987 he defended his thesis for an academic degree. Since 1989 – continuous leader of the architectural firm “Ukrainian Center of Engineering, Marketing and Management” (UCEMM), an author of the majority of the UCEMM’s projects & of the number of scientific papers on the theory & history of the architecture.
An architect Knysh also devotes much attention to the elaboration of town-planning conceptions, in the first place – conception and development strategy of his native town. For example, ““Kyiv City-Center” – the Concept of the Construction on the area of Rybalskij Island”, which on the results of the International Academic Competition on the Architectonical Concept of the Rybalskij Island Reconstruction (2005) was awarded with the I premium, and the concept of “Ukrainian Governmental Centre”, which on the results of the Academic Olympiad on the Architectonical Concept of the “Telychka” region reconstruction (2006) was awarded with the II premium (I premium wasn’t award at all).

The architectural limited liability company «Ukrainian Center of Engineering, Marketing and Management» (UCEMM) have been established in 1989, May. The UCEMM’s Director from the very beginning and up to now is the architect Valerij I. Knysh.
